139 Agency Owners, Managers Respond To HHAC's Appeal For Higher Medicaid Rates

Scores of home-care agencies in Colorado responded to a request by the Home Care & Hospice Association of Colorado to compose messages appealing to lawmakers for higher Medicaid rates.

HHAC is using a new grassroots advocacy tool to coordinate such appeals. You can participate by clicking here and following the instructions.

Home-based services play a vital role in helping people remain in their homes and out of higher-cost facilities, HHAC said in its overall appeal to members of the Joint Budget Committee. To maintain access to these services we request an increase in reimbursement for the 700 small business licensed home health and home care agencies in Colorado that serve tens of thousands of clients.
The rate requests are:
  • Home Health Rates: Request: $13 million to increase reimbursement rates to 90% of Medicare LUPA
  • Private Duty Nursing / LPN Rates:  Request: $1.2 million to increase rates for LPN visits
  • Home and Community Based Services Personal Care and Homemaker Services Rates: Request: $17.6 million (for six months starting Jan. 1 2021) to increase personal care and homemaker rates
